Continente Food Festival combines excellent musical and food
The national artists Carolina Deslandes, David Carreira, Fernando Daniel, Nenny and Pedro Abrunhosa will be taking the stage at the 4th edition of the ‘Continente Food Festival’, which will take place in Porto’s City Park, on the 9th and 10th of July, with free admission. The Brazilian artist Daniela Mercury marks the festival’s last performance, on Sunday. Doors open at 11:00 am.
The 4th edition of the ‘Continente Food Festival’ returns after two years of the pandemic, featuring an area of 200,000 m2, and offering the most diverse experiences for festival-goers of all ages, such as music, showcookings, children’s and family entertainment, among other activities. ‘Cozinha Continente’ (Continente kitchen) will bring together 7 national and international Chefs, who promise to turn food into a spectacle: António Loureiro, Chakall, Cris Mota, Hélio Loureiro, Justa Nobre, Manuel Almeida and Rui Paula. National delicacies such as ‘Tripas à moda do Porto’ (Porto style tripe), Cod Loin in Corn Bread crust or Iberian Pork Chaps are among the suggestions that can be tasted for 4.5 euros. For barbecue lovers, the ‘Da Grelha’ (Grill) area by Pála-Pála is the go-to space to taste various cuts, but there will also be several vegetarian options in the ‘Cozinha de Rua’ (Street kitchen) area.
‘Cozinh’Arte’ by Oliveira da Serra, moderated by presenter Marta Bateira, known as Beatriz Gosta, will be another dynamic area of the venue. Here, several special guests (such as youtubers, musicians and other artists) will be joining the event’s chefs to show their cooking skills, by cooking recipes live. Also noteworthy is the ‘Praça dos Vinhos’ (Wines’ Square), which will feature the best selections of more than 30 national wine producers - such as ‘Real Companhia Velha’, ‘Quinta da Pacheca’ and ‘Adega Cartuxa’ -, to be tasted in cheeses and sausages’ pairings, and also the ‘Continente Academy’, with on-site registration, for workshops and wine tastings with well-known figures such as TV presenter Filipa Gomes or Chef João Rodrigues.
