ROCK IN RIO 2022: CONTINENTE OPENS THE ROCK KITCHEN’S DOORS

Starting tomorrow, Rock in Rio Lisboa’s visitors will be able to get to know Continente’s space at the festival, the Rock Kitchen. In a set that mixes pots with drums, there are benches to sit up to 24 festival-goers at a time, and it’s where 8 different recipes will be cooked throughout each day. Under the guidance of Chef André Gerardo, the Rock Kitchen is open from 12:00 pm to 7:30 pm and each session lasts 30 minutes. Participants will have the opportunity to cook recipes with liquid nitrogen, learn spherification techniques, find vegan alternatives, etc., and taste everything they prepare.

In each session, participants receive the recipe to be prepared, the respective ingredients and a kit consisting of an apron, a chef’s hat and a kitchen glove. Chef André Gerardo and the resident team guide the activity and, at the end, everyone is invited to taste the cooked recipe. Using molecular cooking techniques and some less common ingredients, visitors will have access to unique gastronomic experiences throughout the four days of the festival.

Also, the stand presents itself with the motto “Cook. Rock. Help.”, because for each challenge that the participants manage to cook, Missão Continente donates a complete meal to ‘Refood’.

For those who don’t want to venture into the kitchen, from 12:00 p.m., there is also a set available for visitors to take their ‘rock photo’ - with several available props, such as wooden spoons reminiscent of drumsticks -, which they can share on social media, and, thus, win gifts from the brand.

The brand debuts yet another space in this Rock in Rio Lisboa edition’s venue, the Continente Chef’s Garden: a square where visitors can find proposals signed by Portuguese chefs, featuring 400 seats in the shade and a stage that combines Gastronomy and Entertainment. Justa Nobre, Miguel Castro e Silva, Noélia Jerónimo and Vítor Sobral are responsible for this space’s cuisine where, every day, visitors can taste signature dishes, inspired by Portugal’s main ecosystems – sea, rivers, agriculture, livestock and forests. Heading the Chef’s Stage – a stage filled with food and entertainment moments, such as concerts and talks about food and sustainability, featuring special guests – will be Michelin-starred Chef Ljubomir Stanisic.

Rock in Rio Lisboa’s 9th edition is scheduled for the 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th of June 2022, at Parque da Bela Vista, in Lisbon. Daily tickets for the festival are still available to purchase at Continente stores.
