CONTINENTE REINFORCES OFFER WITH NEW STORE IN THE ALGARVE
Today, Continente opens its third store in the municipality of Silves, in São Bartolomeu de Messines, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to urban locations and neighbourhoods and creating 45 jobs in the region.

The new store is open daily from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm and kicks off with a 10% discount on Continente Card campaign, between July 28th and 30th, which accumulates with the current promotions.
To mark the arrival in the region, Missão Continente gifted shopping carts filled with essential goods to the institutions sponsored by the new store: ‘Casa do Povo de São Bartolomeu de Messines’; ‘Amigos dos Pequeninos’ Association; ‘São Marcos da Serra’ Humanitarian Association; and ‘Carvoeiro Cat Charity’ Association. These institutions will be permanently supported by Missão Continente, through the new Continente Bom Dia São Bartolomeu de Messines store’s daily food surpluses.
For the new store’s Director, Paulo Almeida, who’s been with MC for 7 years, “we want to continue to strengthen our presence in the Algarve, to be ever closer to our customers, with a convenient service. The location of this store, in S. Bartolomeu de Messines, allows us this proximity and convenience, with the best range of products and at the best prices.”
In terms of environmental sustainability, the store features 100% LED light bulbs for energy-saving lighting, and control equipment to reduce excessive water consumption as well as containers where customers can deposit used food oils, used batteries and cork stoppers, which will later be taken for recycling.
There are currently more than 150 Continente Bom Dia stores in Portugal, where around 7000 people work.
