First retailer to invest in customizing weekly promotions
Continente is the first retail brand in the world to develop personalized weekly brochures, with a selection of promotions that meets the individual needs of each customer. More than one million consumers, who are Continente Card users, already benefit from this customized service every week, which helps to identify the most relevant discounts for each family.
Each brochure is created and personalized with the products that the customer usually buys and that are on sale that week, thus showing the best purchase opportunities. Customers can access their brochure on the Continente Card app and also have the possibility of adding the ‘Personalized Brochure’ to their mobile phone screen for direct consultation; those who are not getting the personalized brochure yet can find out more and join at https://oseufolheto.continente.pt/.
“We currently have more than 1 million customers getting their Personalized Brochure every week and our goal is, by the end of 2021, to reach all customers who are Continente Card users.” explains Tiago Simões, Marketing Director at Sonae MC.
Personalization is achieved through the processing of data collected via the Continente Card, as well as applying Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning methodologies. The data includes information related to the customer’s purchases, information at the product level and the relation between the customer and each product, resulting in a combination of hundreds of variables.
