CONTINENTE OPENS 1st STORE IN GOUVEIA

With the creation of 41 new jobs in the region, Continente Bom Dia Gouveia opens today, featuring cafeteria service. The new store is open daily from 8:00 am to 8:30 pm and has approximately 1155 m2 of sales area.

This opening is the 1st store in the municipality of Gouveia, reinforcing the brand’s commitment to the Guarda district, which, as of now, has four Continente spaces. The new store offers a range of thousands of products, which includes Continente’s private label and the brands that usually make up the basket of choices made by the Portuguese.

The opening of the space is marked by a 10% discount on Continente Card campaign, throughout the store, between the 7th and 12th of December.

Continente Bom Dia Gouveia presents itself as a reference space in the environmental aspect, with self-consumption photovoltaic power plants, in order to minimize the space’s carbon footprint. Consumers are even able to use reusable bags when buying fruit, vegetables or bakery products.

We also highlight the fresh products available, from fruits and vegetables, to the bakery, butcher and fishmonger that the store will have available, with products from the region. Here, consumers will find an area very similar to traditional markets, with a very comfortable and contemporary environment, where all information about the product’s origin and characteristics will be available. The store also offers a wide range of private label products, with packaging developed based on eco-design concepts, in which more than 70% of them are fully recyclable.

The local population and institutions in the Gouveia region will rely on the social intervention initiatives carried out by Missão Continente, which will support the ‘Paços da Serra Cultural and Recreation Assistance Centre’ and the ‘Lagarinhos Cultural and Recreational Beneficent Association’ with daily food surpluses from this new store.

On the environmental front, it is also worth highlighting the availability of equipment where consumers can deposit used cooking oil, used batteries and cork stoppers, which will later be taken for recycling. In terms of lighting, the store has 100% LED low-consumption light bulbs, and also equipment to control and reduce potential excessive water consumption.
