CONTINENTE BOM DIA OPENS 1ST STORE IN CORUCHE
The 1st Continente store in the municipality of Coruche opened today, on Avenida Capitão Salgueiro Maia, featuring 1477m2 and 39 employees. Open daily, from 8 am to 9 pm, the new store has 105 parking spaces, with 2 charging stations for electric vehicles. The photovoltaic panels, installed in the parking lot and car park, represent around 45% of the store’s total consumption, guaranteeing its self-sufficiency, for a period of more than 8 hours, on a day with good solar radiation.

The opening of Continente Bom Dia Coruche’s store is marked with a 10% discount on Continente Card campaign, throughout the store, between the 26th and 29th of October, which accumulates with current promotions.
“With this new Continente store we want to be even closer to Coruche’s families, with a close and quality service and a range with thousands of products, which include our private label and the brands that usually make up the basket of choices of those who visit us. We have had a positive impact on our customers for over 37 years and we want to keep fulfilling this mission,” explains João António Ferreira da Silva, Store Director, who has been with MC for 10 years.
This opening marks the brand’s investment in the municipality of Coruche and reinforces the brand in the district of Santarém, where it now opened its 17th store.
To highlight its arrival in the region, Missão Continente gifted shopping carts filled with essential goods to the institutions sponsored by the new store: ‘Centro Social Nossa Senhora da Conceição da Branca’, ‘Associação de Solidariedade Social de S. José da Lamarosa’, ‘Cáritas Paroquial de Coruche’ and ‘Associação Chão dos Bichos’. Missão Continente will permanently support these institutions, through daily food surpluses from the new Continente Bom Dia Coruche store.
In this new store, consumers can also use reusable bags when purchasing fruit, vegetables or bakery products or reusable boxes for delicatessen and take-away products. Also noteworthy are the fresh and seasonal products always available, from fruits and vegetables, to the bakery, butcher and fishmonger that the store offers, with national products.
In terms of environmental sustainability, the store features 100% LED light bulbs for energy-saving lighting, and control equipment to reduce excessive water consumption.
There are currently more than 150 Continente Bom Dia stores in Portugal, where around 7000 people work.
