Until October 23rd, the largest Animal Fair in the country will take place, in all Continente stores as well as online, with direct discounts of up to 50% on the best-selling brands for pets, in a diversity of more than 600 products.

The food segment for small breed dogs is one of this year’s novelties, concentrating the entire offer of differentiated food for these sizes, which generally need more energetic foods and with a higher level of protein to face their fast metabolism and adjusted to their jaw size.

Additionally, Continente continues to reinforce its commitment to the high nutrition segment, particularly with the exclusive and specialist brand ‘Uppy’, developed by specialists and recommended by veterinarians. All ‘Uppy’ food is hypoallergenic, reducing the possibility of animals developing food allergies or intolerances. It is for sale exclusively in all Continente stores and Continente Online, with discounts of up to 35% during the fair.

Still in this trend segment, focused on health, the Continente Animal Fair presents more novelties with the ‘Boxby’ brand, in particular a line of functional dog biscuits with scientifically proven quality ingredients and recipes. Also noteworthy are a variety of accessories and products for outings, comfort and hygiene, with discounts of up to 50% during the fair.

In addition to the promotional offers carried out throughout the year to help families provide the best care for their four-legged best friends, MC has contributed to the animal cause through several partners and initiatives. “In addition to daily donations – in 2021, Missão Continente donated 1.7 million euros in food surpluses to around 370 animal shelter and welfare associations – Continente promotes several solidarity vouchers campaigns throughout the year,” says Rosário Almeida, PetFood & Care Commercial Direction’s Category Leader at MC. “Last year, through our customers’ solidarity, we gathered 157 tonnes of food for Animalife, a national non-profit association that fights the abandonment of pets and that forwards donations to associations, families in need and homeless people. A further 209 tonnes were also raised during the collections carried out at Continente stores by the various local associations, with the help of their volunteers”, continues the official.

The next fundraising campaign to support Animalife’s Animal Solidarity Bank will take place at Continente, Continente Modelo, Continente Bom Dia, Continente Online and ZU stores from the 6th to the 16th of October, through the sale of vouchers. The physical collection of goods at the entrance of Continente stores (with the support of Animal Solidarity Bank’s volunteers) will take place on the weekend of October 8th and 9th, at Continente Modelo stores, and, on the weekend of October 15th and 16th, in the remaining Continente and Continente Bom Dia stores.
