MISSÃO CONTINENTE HAS ALREADY RAISED 60 THOUSAND EUROS IN MADEIRA
Through the “Presentes à Mesa” (Presents at the Table) campaign, which takes place in all the islands’ Continente stores, 60 thousand euros have already been raised through more than 58 thousand vouchers sold, to support 15 institutions on the Island of Madeira*, in the fight against hunger and to help citizens facing unprotected situations. In total, the campaign, which runs until January 8th, will support 330 local institutions across the country, in addition to the Food Emergency Network.
The campaign is running on Continente, Continente Modelo, Continente Bom Dia and Continente Online stores, through the sale of €1 and €5 solidarity vouchers. 50% of the amount raised by each store will be donated to the Food Emergency Network and the other 50% to the local institution supported by each store. This way, customers support the Food Emergency Network - which operates on a national scale -, and a local institution, contributing directly to their community.
The Food Emergency Network is a response based on Food Banks, with nationwide coverage, whose mission is to support thousands of vulnerable people and families. The 330 institutions identified share the objective of fighting hunger and poverty, and were selected directly by the stores, taking into account the existing partnership with Missão Continente (among other criteria).
Missão Continente’s new solidarity campaign has as partners the Portuguese Football Federation, the Portuguese Nutrition Association and the National School of Public Health.
