FRANCELOS GETS A NEW CONTINENTE BOM DIA STORE
Francelos, in Vila Nova de Gaia, has a new Continente Bom Dia store, featuring 1683 m2 of sales area and 96 parking spaces, with 2 charging stations for electric vehicles. With 52 employees, the new store is open daily from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., and follows MC’s proximity stores expansion strategy in urban locations and neighbourhoods.
This opening is marked by a 10% discount on Continente Card campaign, across the entire store, between the 19th and 21st of May, and which accumulates with the promotions in force. This opening reinforces the brand’s commitment to the municipality of Vila Nova de Gaia, which now has 13 stores.
“We want to be ever closer to families residing in Portugal, returning the affection we have had for over 36 years, offering the best products at the best price for everyone,” explains the store’s Director, Joana Reis, who’s been with MC for 23 years.
To highlight its arrival in the region, Missão Continente gifted shopping carts filled with essential goods to the institutions sponsored by the new store: ASSM (Madalena’s Social Solidarity Association), Child Protective Association and SOS Children’s Villages Association – Gulpilhares. Missão Continente will permanently support these institutions, through daily food surpluses from the new Continente Bom Dia Francelos store.
At Continente Bom Dia Francelos, consumers have fresh and seasonal products always available, from fruits and vegetables, to bakery, butchery and fishmonger products, with emphasis on national items.
On the environmental front, the photovoltaic solar panels on the store’s rooftop account for around 45% of the store’s total consumption, guaranteeing its self-sufficiency for a period of more than 8 hours on a day with good solar radiation.
In terms of lighting, the store has 100% LED low-consumption light bulbs, equipment to control and reduce excessive water consumption and containers where customers can deposit used batteries and cork stoppers, which will later be taken for recycling.
There are currently more than 150 Continente Bom Dia stores in Portugal, which employ around 7000 people.
