Continente Siga recognized in Portugal Digital Awards
Provided by Continente, the Continente Siga App, which allows purchases to be made entirely digitally, faster and simpler, received the ‘Best Retail & Distribution Project’ award at the Portugal Digital Awards 2020, promoted by IDC.
This edition of the Portugal Digital Awards received 350 applications, from all sectors of the Portuguese economy, with 46 finalists in the different categories. The purpose of these awards developed by IDC, in partnership with Axians, is to recognize organizations and leaders with a vision to raise their companies to the most sophisticated level, enabling them to digitally transform their business.
As a result of a partnership with Shelf.AI, the Continente Siga App turns the entire shopping journey at Continente stores into a true digital and personalized experience. It all starts with the preparation of the purchase, where the Continente Siga App allows you to create shopping lists easily, using artificial intelligence to suggest the items on sale that are most relevant to each customer. It also allows you to search for items by text, voice (for example, through Google Assistant), or by scanning barcodes. During the purchase, the customer can register the products using the smartphone camera, always knowing the updated prices, how much he will spend and save. In the end, the customer can proceed to payment with the mobile phone, with Continente Pay, or in exclusive cashiers at participating stores, thus being able to enjoy a truly autonomous purchase without queues.
The Continente Siga App’s self-scanning solution is available in 44 stores, with the remaining features available in all Continente stores. This App has more than 120 thousand registered users. The pandemic context has further accelerated the adhesion to the solution, since it allows a more autonomous purchase, with less contact, and - therefore - more secure.
