Public Figures help Portuguese Volunteer Firefighters Association

As part of Continente's sponsorship of the 82nd edition of ‘Volta a Portugal by Bicycle’, the brand invited the actress Helena Costa, the presenter Vanessa Oliveira, the actor João Mota, the actor João Bettencourt Brito and the businessman and influencer Ricardo Martins Pereira ('O Arrumadinho') to ride in solidarity with the Portuguese Volunteer Firefighters Association.

In a 30-minute time trial challenge, the guests managed to raise a total of €1,479, since for each km they cycled, Missão Continente donated 10 euros to the Portuguese Volunteer Firefighters Association. The competition took place in pairs (with companions chosen by each personality) on August 4th, during the Prologue of the ‘Volta a Portugal by Bicycle’, near Praça do Império, next to the CCB (Belém). In the end, the symbolic check, with the donation amount, was presented to João Jordão Marques, president of the association, who thanked everyone for their efforts.

'Portugal de Volta' is Continente's motto to communicate the brand's latest support for the 82nd edition of the ‘Volta a Portugal’, one of the sporting events most cherished by the Portuguese and which takes place between the 4th and the 15th of August, in several stages across the country. The brand also sponsors the event's Mountain Jersey.
