Continente exclusive wines with over 100 medals
There were 57 Continente exclusive wines that, this year, won more than 100 medals in prestigious national and international wine competitions, among 48 gold medals, 36 silver and 22 bronze.
The wines, developed in partnership with national producers and for sale at Continente stores and online, stood out in competitions such as the ‘Wine Masters Challenge’, the ‘Os Melhores Vinhos do Dão’ contest, and the Setúbal Peninsula Wine Contest, in Portugal, the ‘International Wine & Spirit Competition’, in London, and the ‘Sommelier Wine Awards’, also in the United Kingdom, the World Competition in Brussels, the ‘Challenge International du Vin’ and the ‘Muscats Du Monde’, in France, the ‘Berliner Wine Trophy’, in Berlin , and the ‘Mundus Vini Spring / Summer Tasting’, also in Germany, the Austrian Wine Challenge, in Austria, the China Wine and Spirits Awards, in China, ‘Prodexpo’, in Russia, and the ‘PLMA Salute to Excellence’, in the Netherlands.
One of the most relevant distinctions was the first prize awarded to the ‘Moscatel Roxo de Setúbal Venâncio da Costa Lima family reserve’, in the international competition “Muscats du Monde”, considered the best muscat in the competition.
Of the 34 wines that were awarded gold medals, the highlights are ‘Castello D'Alba Doc Douro Red’ and ‘Porrais Signature Doc Douro Red’, in the contest “Berliner Wine Trophy” (summer edition 2020); ‘Vinha Maria Premium Doc Dão Red wines’, from Globalwines, ‘Rovisco Pais Regional Reserve Setúbal Península Red’, from Adega de Pegões, in the “Mundus Vini Spring Tasting 2020” contest and ‘Contemporal Port 10 Years’, produced by Quinta & Vineyard Bottlers in “Mundus Vini Summer Tasting 2020”. And yet, the ‘Pedra do Gato Premium Doc Dão Red wines’, from Casa da Passarella, in the contest "The Best Dão Wines 2020", the ‘Vinha Valentina Regional Signature Reserve Setúbal Península Red’, from Casa Ermelinda Freitas, in the "China Wine and Spirits Awards 2020 ”, ‘Vidigueira Premium Doc Alentejo White’, from Adega da Vidigueira, at the“ Wine Masters Challenge 2020 ”and ‘Talabira do Algarve Premium Regional Algarve Red’, produced by Casa Santos Lima, in the“ Challenge International Du Vin 2020 ”contest.
Awarded wines can also be identified at Continente’s Wine Cellar, a platform where the most suitable wines are found for each gastronomic specialty, with filters ranging from price, to current discounts, including the type of wine, region, intensity and guard type. Continente’s Wine Cellar is associated with the Continente online store, allowing immediate purchase of the choices made.

Support for national production and the availability of the best that is produced in the different national wine regions is at the origin of the work that Continente has been developing over the years.
