MISSÃO CONTINENTE SUPPORTS NEONATOLOGY AT FUNCHAL’S CENTRAL HOSPITAL
As part of the celebration of its 20th anniversary, Missão Continente kicks off tomorrow with the ‘Vales que Vêm por Bem’ campaign to support the neonatal and paediatric intensive care service of the Dr. Nélio Mendonça Hospital, a reference in Madeira. The Regional Secretary for Health and Civil Protection, Dr. Pedro Ramos, the President of SESARAM, Dr. Rafaela Fernandes and the Director of Operations for Continente in Madeira, José Carlos Salvado, will be present tomorrow, July 26th, at 11:30 am, at the Continente Modelo S. Martinho store, in Funchal, for the launch of the campaign.
The campaign takes place at Continente stores in Madeira, through the sale of 1€ and 5€ solidarity vouchers, between July 26th and September 3rd.
In addition to the ‘Vales que Vêm por Bem’ campaign, Missão Continente directly supports the unit with the works to expand the Neonatology service as well as 50,000 euros for the purchase of equipment.
According to José Carlos Salvado, Director of Operations for Continente in Madeira, “Missão Continente has developed several local support actions in the Madeira region, in a dynamic that strengthens the concept ‘20 years of Thinking About Others’. The main objective of the ‘Vales que Vêm por Bem’ is to support the neonatology service of the Funchal Hospital, which does fundamental work with all new-borns, especially premature infants, who are born in the Region. We are counting on the solidarity of all Madeirans in this great project, which belongs to everyone”.
This is also an initiative that is part of the ‘Bom para a Madeira’ campaign, which Continente is developing in the region as a way of celebrating MC’s activity in the Archipelago and bringing the brand closer to all Madeirans.
The Continente brand has been present in Madeira since 1996 and currently promotes 1,100 jobs with the support of 80 local producers who supply the stores. In the region, Continente supports 36 social institutions on a daily basis.
Missão Continente is Continente’s brand of social responsibility, which is anchored in the values of community, mutual help, and care for others, in the search for a sustainable future. It is committed to Sustainability, contributing positively to the communities in which it operates and acting on three axes: Food, People and Planet. Together with several partners and national reference entities, it responds to social needs and reinforces the idea that each of us must play our role, whether big or small, in order to help each other.
