‘Contos Solidários’ are an initiative by Missão Continente, in partnership with ‘Leya’ and ‘Disney’. For each copy sold, 0.50 euros goes to the selected charitable institutions. The project began in 2019 with ‘Operação Nariz Vermelho’ and, in 4 years, donated around 469,000 euros to these 2 institutions. The determined amount from March 2021 to October 2023 benefited the ‘ACREDITAR’ Association. From October 2023, the initiative began supporting the IPO in Porto and Lisbon. All institutions that benefit from this support are connected to children.

This event was attended by João de Bragança, President of the ACREDITAR Association, and Rita Barrocas, Continente’s Corporate Social Responsibility Coordinator, who gave a brief explanation of the ‘Contos Solidários’ project, presenting the history of the books sold over the years and announcing the new partnership with IPO in Lisbon and Porto.

‘ACREDITAR’ used this support for psychological support and social support for children and families with cancer: psychological support for 73 children and their families and social support for 116 families, as well as in the expansion works of Casa ACREDITAR in Lisbon, which translates into better conditions and more rooms available to help families.

João de Bragança, President of the ACREDITAR Association, states, “The partnership between Missão Continente and ACREDITAR has been fundamental in supporting children and their families facing a serious illness. We are grateful for the continued support and contribution of Missão Continente in improving the lives of those who need it the most.

The ‘Contos Solidários’ initiative represents Missão Continente’s commitment to supporting important social causes, such as children’s well-being. We are very pleased with the positive impact this partnership has had and are excited to continue working together to make the difference in the lives of many children and their families,” reinforces Rita Barrocas, Continente’s Social Responsibility Coordinator.

This collection’s books are available for €3.49, of which €0.50 are donated to the institution supported in each edition. Disney’s classic tales are available exclusively in all Continente, Continente Modelo, Continente Bom Dia, and Note! stores.

Missão Continente represents all of Continente’s social responsibility initiatives, operating for 20 years in the areas of food, people and planet, thus wanting to contribute to a more sustainable future.
