CONTINENTE OPENS NEW STORE IN PAREDES
As of today, Paredes has a new Continente Bom Dia store, featuring 926 m2 of sales area and 27 employees as well as Wells and Bagga stores, located on Rua da Circular Rodoviária Interna de Paredes. The new store is open daily from 8 am to 9 pm, and follows MC’s proximity stores expansion policies in urban locations and neighbourhoods. Customers can also benefit from 56 parking spaces, with 4 charging stations for electric vehicles.

The opening of the space is marked with a 10% discount on Continente Card campaign, throughout the store, between October 31st and November 5th, which accumulates with current promotions.
“The opening of the store in Paredes represents Continente’s commitment to being close to our customers, always placing them at the centre of our business, in order to provide them with the best value proposition and brand experience, through our stores. We want to offer families quality products at affordable prices and continue to receive the affection we have had for over 37 years,” explains Catarina Paiva, Store Director, who has been with MC for 16 years.
The new store offers a range of thousands of products, which includes Continente’s private label and the brands that usually make up the basket of Portuguese choices. It also features the new self-check-out service (4 cashiers), which allows access with shopping carts. This opening reinforces the brand’s commitment to the municipality of Paredes, which now has 5 stores.
To highlight its arrival in the region, Missão Continente gifted shopping carts filled with essential goods to the institutions sponsored by the new store: ‘Associação de Desenvolvimento Integral de Lordelo’, ‘Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Paredes’ and ‘Associação Patudos de Paredes’. Missão Continente will permanently support these institutions, through daily food surpluses from the new Continente Bom Dia Paredes Centro store.
At Continente Bom Dia Paredes Centro, consumers can also use reusable bags when purchasing fruit, vegetables or bakery products, or reusable boxes for delicatessen and take-away products. Also noteworthy are the fresh and seasonal products always available, from fruits and vegetables, to the bakery, butcher and fishmonger that the store offers, with national products.
On the environmental front, the photovoltaic solar panels on the roof and in the car park stand out, which represent around 45% of the store's total consumption, guaranteeing its self-sufficiency for a period of more than 8 hours on a day with good solar radiation. The store also features 100% LED low consumption light bulbs for lighting, and equipment to control and reduce excessive water consumption.
There are currently more than 150 Continente Bom Dia stores in Portugal, where around 7000 people work.
