To mark the support for the 83rd Portugal Bike Tour, one of the most cherished sporting events by the Portuguese, sponsored by Continente, and which takes place between August 4th and 15th, the brand invited Chef Chakall to create 10 regional recipes*, one for each stage of the event, with local ingredients.

All recipes are available on the Continente Feed platform as well as in the 15 Continente stores that the Tour passes through, 5 of which will welcome the Chef on his ‘stove-bike’ for showcooking sessions available to the public, with the aim of showing exclusive regional recipes, cooked with typical products.

Chef Chakall will present the recipes in the following stores:

  • August 5th, 3:30 pm: Elvas’ Continente Modelo - Cod and Carrot ‘Pataniscas’ with Tabbouleh

  • August 6th, 11:00 am: Castelo Branco’s Continente Bom Dia – ‘Feijoada’ (beans and pork stew)

  • August 7th, 11:00 am: Covilhã’s Continente - Peach and ‘Serra da Estrela’ Cheese Bruschetta

  • August 13th, 11:00 am: Fafe’s Continente Modelo - Chicken Rice

  • August 14th, 11:00 am: Cabeceiras de Basto’s (Senhora da Graça) Continente Bom Dia – ‘Regueifa’ (type of bread) Bruschetta

During each session’s 40 minutes, the public at the store will be able to help with the cooking, while the Chef explains the ingredients and the recipe’s connection to the region. In the end, customers will be able to taste the result.

During the 83rd Portugal Bike Tour, the ‘Continente Caravan’ will be the main stage for the brand’s activation, which will pass through the departure and arrival locations, and features lucky roulette wheels that guarantee gifts to all who wish to participate. More than 22,000 gifts are planned to be distributed over the event’s days, at an average of 305 gifts per hour.

Continente is, for the first time, the main sponsor of the event’s Yellow Jersey, after debuting in support of the 2021 edition, with the Mountain Shirt.

Continente is also a food partner, that is, the ‘Portugal Bike Tour’s Official Great Surface’, responsible for feeding the event’s staff and partners, throughout the 10 days of competition.
