NEW MISSÃO CONTINENTE SOLIDARITY BAGS SUPPORT 20 INSTITUTIONS
This year, the 'Solidarity Bags’ third edition marks Missão Continente’s 20th anniversary with the launch of an exclusive collection that will support 20 institutions. ‘Children and Youth Support’, ‘Animal Support’, ‘International Organizations’, ‘Diversity and Inclusion’ and ‘Fighting Hunger’ are the five areas identified to be supported, with the community’s involvement.
These bags are for sale in all Continente, Continente Modelo and Continente Bom Dia stores across the country, in stages, throughout the year, for €1.50. For each bag sold, €0.50 goes to the institutions. The total amount raised varies depending on the quantity sold of each theme, and will be divided equally between the 4 institutions that each bag supports. With the donation, the institutions will implement a project, which Missão Continente will monitor, and its impact on the community in question will be measured.
“As part of Missão Continente’s 20th anniversary, these solidarity bags will support 20 institutions through their 5 different themes collection. It is by supporting these projects, which enhance and contribute to social protection, awareness and mobilization systems, that Missão Continente wants to continue to contribute to the sustainable development of society. We believe that by joining efforts we will always be able to provide answers to those who need it the most,” explains Nádia Reis, Communication and Social Responsibility Director at Continente.
The first solidarity bag from the 2023 Collection is currently on sale – the ‘Confiamos no Futuro’ (We Trust the Future) bag, in support of Children and Youth - which reverts to the ‘Transformers Movement’, which develops and implements actions that promote and increase civic and social participation from youth in communities through Volunteering, Associativism and Awareness-raising actions; to the ‘Obra do Frei Gil’, which promotes the rights of children, young people and their families and has support structures such as residences, kindergartens and support centres; to ‘CrescerSer’, which exists to respond and provide to children and young people in danger situations; and to the ‘Casa de São Francisco de Assis’, which has the mission of welcoming and reintegrating children, young people and adults with cognitive disabilities, through welcoming, therapies and training, creating conditions that guarantee adequate satisfaction of physical, psychological, emotional and social needs.
This is a collection of 5 reusable bags, made from plastic bottles, that uses colourful and abstract illustrations inspired by the most current trends.
