New Continente Modelo store in Vila Real de Santo António
With cafeteria, Well's and Continente Plug & Charge services, the 2nd Continente store in the municipality of Vila Real de Santo António opens today to the public, with a sales area of around 1740m2. This Continente Modelo store, located at Avenida Fernando Salgueiro Maia, Lugar das Hortas, joins the Continente Bom Dia of Vila Real de Santo António store, opened in 2018, to serve consumers in the region.
The new store, which creates 77 new jobs in the region, offers a range with thousands of products, including Continente’s private label and the brands that usually make up the basket of Portuguese choices. This opening reinforces the brand's commitment to the district of Faro, which now has 17 Continente spaces.
Continente Modelo in Vila Real de Santo António presents itself as a reference space in the environmental field, where customers can charge their electric vehicles while shopping. There are two charging stations, where Continente Card holders, who make purchases over € 30, can also benefit from free charges, with about 35km of autonomy.
The new space also has a dedicated Fruit area, where customers will be able to use alternatives to single-use plastic bags, such as paper bags (which support up to 2.5 kg) available free of charge, reusable and washable cotton bags ( € 3 / unit) or polyester bags (€ 1.50 / pack of two units), or bring their own bags. Also noteworthy is the fact that, in this specific space, there is no food packaged in plastic.
The new Continente store is focused on promoting convenience and offers a range with thousands of products, including Continente's private label and the brands that usually make up the basket of Portuguese choices.
According to Fernando Leal, Continente Modelo Vila Real de Santo António’s Store Director, this opening, “will allow us to reinforce the brand's presence in the region and be even closer to the population of Vila Real de Santo António, with quality products, varied offer, at the best price and in the same place”.
The opening of the space is marked with a 10% discount on Continente Card campaign, across the entire store, between the 16th and 20th of December.
The local population and institutions in the region will be able to count on Missão Continente’s social intervention initiatives, now promoted by this new store. Continente Modelo Vila Real de Santo António’s store will support with its daily food surpluses the Vila Real de Santo António’s Portuguese Red Cross Delegation and the Guadi Animal Center.
In the new store’s area of influence there is also support for the institutions Santa Casa da Misericórdia of Vila Real de Santo António and Refood Vila Real de Santo António, with a focus on fighting food waste and fighting hunger as well as promoting health eating and environmental sustainability.
