‘TOUR POR TODOS’ RAISES OVER 8 THOUSAND EUROS IN MOITA
The ‘Tour por Todos’ (Tour For All) second solidarity and intimate concert by Tony Carreira, which took place on March 25th, at Moita’s Municipal Exhibition Hall, within the scope of Missão Continente’s 20 Year anniversary, raised 8,037.72 euros.
Half of the amount raised in the concert reverts to the Sara Carreira Association and the other half to a local association. Moita’s Parish Centre is the institution supported in this village on the south bank of the Tejo river, which has a relationship of more than 20 years with Continente, through donations of surplus food from the brand’s stores in the region.
During the concert, the respective checks were handed over to Moita’s Parish Centre and to the Sara Carreira Association, in a moment that was attended by their representatives, as well as Moita’s Mayor, Carlos Albino.
“This year, Missão Continente celebrates 20 years of activity and we will remain focused on creating social value in the communities we support. The ‘Tour por Todos’ allows us to be even closer to these communities, through these solidarity concerts featuring the artist Tony Carreira. We deeply appreciate the contribution of each one to the success of this initiative, where it will be possible to support the Sara Carreira Association and 10 local institutions”, says Nádia Reis, Director of Communication and Social Responsibility at Continente.
“Missão Continente's support to Moita’s Parish Centre will allow us to reinforce our work, providing conditions that allow us to support the neediest population in our village, through education, well-being and integral development of children. We believe that by joining forces we will always achieve much more and for that reason we thank Missão Continente and all those who purchased tickets for this ‘Tour por Todos’ concert.” says Fernanda Pedro Costa, Moita’s Parish Centre’s Vice-President.
Lousã, Mirandela, Guarda, Torres Novas, Ílhavo, Sintra, Faro and Amarante are the cities where the ‘Tour por Todos’ will go through, with intimate concerts. The goal is to create a close and familiar relationship between the public and the artist who has kept, for several years, a close relation with Missão Continente.
Tickets will be for sale at the brand’s stores in each region, for a single price of 15 euros. More information at: https://missao.continente.pt/iniciativas/20-anos/tour-por-todos.
In addition to the ‘Tour por Todos’, Missão Continente will continue its projects in 2023, with daily support to more than 1,100 institutions, with their food surplus; with the Missão Continente School educational programme, which reaches more than 800 schools, and impacts more than 100,000 pre-school and elementary school students and around 8,000 teachers, raising awareness, from an early age, on the consumers and customers of the future to make more balanced and sustainable choices; with support for the gender equality cause, permanently collaborating with the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality and through the donation of goods to entities dedicated to this cause; and by supporting several local initiatives and projects to address different needs.
Missão Continente represents all of Continente’s social responsibility initiatives, such as Community Support, Inclusive Development and Environmental Citizenship, thus wanting to contribute to a more sustainable future.
