MISSÃO CONTINENTE MARKS ITS 20 YEARS WITH A SOLIDARITY TOUR

To celebrate 20 years of support and connection to the community, Missão Continente will promote 10 solidarity concerts featuring Tony Carreira. The ‘Tour por Todos’ (Tour for All) will be going from north to south of the country until the end of the year. Half of the amount of each sold ticket reverts to the Sara Carreira Association and the other half to a local institution.

Vila Nova de Gaia will be the first city to host the ‘Tour por Todos’, on March 18th, at Gaia’s Municipal Pavilion. Tickets are available for sale at the Continente Gaia Shopping and Continente Modelo Gulpilhares stores, for a single price of 15 euros. The local institution supported is the Carvalhos’ Juvenile Home.

Gaia, Moita, Lousã, Mirandela, Guarda, Torres Novas, Ílhavo, Sintra, Faro and Amarante are the cities where the ‘Tour por Todos’ will pass through, with intimate concerts, with the aim of creating a close and familiar relationship between the public and the artist who has kept, for several years, a close connection with Missão Continente.

Tiago Simões, Marketing Director at MC, explains: “Missão Continente has embraced many causes for 20 years, contributing positively to the well-being of the community. Music is a way for us to be together and celebrate this special moment. The ‘Tour por Todos’ seeks this celebration, very close to the People, and with an artist who has been with us forever.

As part of these celebrations, Tony Carreira also participates in the recording of Missão Continente’s anthem, which was originally released by the artist in 2016, and which now features several employees from Continente stores across the country. “We all are Missão Continente, especially our People, who are in charge of stores and warehouses, doing their best every day. Participating in Missão Continente’s anthem represents all our values and actions over these 20 years”, adds Tiago Simões.

In addition to the ‘Tour por Todos’, Missão Continente will continue its projects in 2023, such as providing daily support to more than 1,100 institutions, with its surplus food; the Missão Continente School educational program, which reaches 620 schools and impacts more than 70,000 pre-school and elementary school students, intervening directly with the future consumers and customers; supporting the gender equality cause, by permanently collaborating with the Secretary of State for Citizenship and Equality and through the donation of goods to entities dedicated to this cause; and supporting several local initiatives and projects to address different needs.

Missão Continente represents all of Continente’s social responsibility initiatives, such as Community Support, Inclusive Development and Environmental Citizenship, thus wanting to contribute to a more sustainable future.
