MISSÃO CONTINENTE MAKES SPECIAL DONATION TO LOCAL INSTITUTIONS
To mark the reopening of Continente’s store in Vila Real, Missão Continente donated shopping carts filled with essential goods to its six local social partners*, which are already regularly supported with the store’s daily food surplus, benefiting the entities users and avoiding food waste.
The ‘Plataforma ProAnimal’ Association, represented by Leonor Morais Rodrigues, the Vila Real’s Portuguese Red Cross delegation, represented by its Chief Executive Officer, Colonel Fernando Teixeira, the ‘Lar Nª Srª das Dores’ Foundation, represented by Paula Margarida Reis and Maria do Carmo Varejão, the Vila Real’s Diocesan Caritas, represented by Henrique Oliveira, the Vale de Nogueiras’ Social and Parish Centre, represented by its Technical Director, Daniela Silva and ‘Refood’ (Vila Real’s branch), represented by Jorge Rodrigues, were welcomed by the Director of Vila Real’s Continente store, Luís Pereira and by Leopoldina (Missão Continente’s mascot). All institutions were gifted a cart full of dozens of products such as food, hygiene and cleaning products, as a symbol of strengthening the relationship between the entities and the brand, as the store completes remodelling works to better serve the population.
Vila Real’s Continente was completely remodelled, now having 4,575 m2 of sales area, 40 cashiers in the hypermarket, new stores - ZU, Note, Well’s, Dr. Well’s, Worten Mobile, Worten, MO and Bagga - and more parking spaces. Open daily from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm, the store offers consumers a variety of fresh and seasonal products that are always available, from fruits and vegetables, to bakery, butcher and fishmonger services, as well as a Take Away service.
With a capacity for 587 parking spaces, Vila Real’s Continente also made significant improvements in the local urban landscape and in the access to the commercial area that has been in this location for 28 years.
