MEU SUPER OPENS NEW STORES IN PORTO AND IN VISEU
Two new Meu Super stores opened today, one in the parish of Baltar, in Paredes, and another in the parish of Chãs de Tavares, in Mangualde. The new commercial spaces feature a range of products adjusted to the preferences of customers in each region and a service close to the customer, for a personalized shopping experience.
The new Meu Super Baltar II store, which is open from Monday to Saturday from 8 am to 8 pm, is the brand’s 18th store in the Porto district. The new Meu Super Chãs de Tavares store, which is open from Monday to Sunday from 9 am to 8 pm, is the brand’s 28th store in the Viseu district.
Keeping up with this network of proximity stores’ expansion, the new stores aim to serve the local population with a diversified and quality offer, including products from Continente’s private label, and with all the advantages provided by the brand’s loyalty card, through in-store discounts and benefits from a wide network of partners.
This year, Meu Super was awarded the “Seal of Excellence in Franchising 2022”, granted by the Portuguese Franchising Association. This award measures the satisfaction rate of franchisees, being awarded to companies that best operate in the franchise market in Portugal. Also this year, Meu Super was the winner, for the 7th consecutive year, of the ‘Consumer Choice’ award, which demonstrates notoriety and recognition from consumers. Meu Super stores were also awarded, for the 5th consecutive year, the ‘Excellentia’ and the ‘Cinco Estrelas’ awards.
‘Meu Super’ opened 37 new stores in 2021, including Madeira, Azores and Cape Verde, which stand out for their quality fresh products, the presence of Continente’s private label products and other leading brands in the market, competitive prices and an attractive promotional plan reinforced by the ability to use Continente’s loyalty card, through in-store discounts and benefits from a wide network of partners.
Over 11 years, Meu Super opened 316 stores across the country, with a total sales area of 50 thousand m2 and created 1500 jobs. In 2021, Meu Super stores’ sales exceeded €175 million, reinforcing its position in the segment of stores with less than 400 m2.
