CONTINENTE BOM DIA OPENS FOR THE 1ST TIME IN CONDEIXA
As of today, the municipality of Condeixa will have a Continente Bom Dia store, which will create 49 jobs in the Centre region. The first Continente store in the municipality of Condeixa is open daily from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm and features 1549 m2 of sales area.
To highlight the arrival in the region, Missão Continente gifted shopping carts filled with essential goods to the institutions sponsored by the new store: Ega’s Multipurpose Social Centre, ‘Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Condeixa-a-Nova’ (Condeixa-a-Nova’s Holy House of Mercy) and the Animal Protection Association ‘Condeixa Pa’tudos’.
These institutions will be permanently supported by Missão Continente, through the new Continente Bom Dia Condeixa store’s daily food surpluses.
Daniel Santos, Continente Bom Dia Condeixa store’s new Director, explains that “we want to continue to be where our customers are, with convenient and practical proposals. We opened for the first time in the municipality of Condeixa and the team is very committed to providing an excellent service, meeting the needs of our customers in the centre area. Here, customers will find the freshest products, the best prices, the widest variety on offer and the friendliest service.”
This opening reinforces the brand’s commitment to the Coimbra district, which now has 9 Continente stores.
Like all Continente stores, this store allows customers to use reusable bags when buying fruit, vegetables or bakery products, as well as reusable boxes for cold cuts and take-away service. To promote and raise awareness on food waste, customers can find 0%Waste boxes, which contain 5 kg of fruits and vegetables in good consumption conditions, but close to the limit of their shelf life, for sale for €0.50/kg.
The opening of the space is marked by a 10% discount on Continente Card campaign, throughout the entire store, between the 21st and 24th of July.
On the environmental front, the store integrates photovoltaic solar panels in the car park and eight charging stations for electric vehicles.
In terms of lighting, the store has 100% LED low-consumption light bulbs, equipment to control and reduce excessive water consumption and containers where customers can deposit used cooking oil, used batteries and cork stoppers, which will later be taken for recycling.

Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Condeixa-a-Nova (Condeixa-a-Nova’s Holy House of Mercy) - The institution supports around 250 people in the CATL, Day Centre, ERPI, SAD, Social canteen, Day care and Kindergarten social responses, seeking to promote qualified social responses within the scope of the Social Action services adapted to the needs diagnosed in the Community, contributing to local development, intervening in the Childhood, Youth and Senior Citizens fields.
Condeixa Pa’tudos - Condeixa-a-Nova’s Animal Protection Association - The institution supports around 300 animals in the social responses to support needy families with pets; Shelter Dogs / Shelter Cats; Support to Temporary Host Families; Sterilization of animals; Support for dog packs or cat colonies (wild/street animals), trying to persist, insist and not give up on animals.
