BEA WORLD: CONTINENTE IS THE ONLY PORTUGUESE BRAND AMONG THE FINALISTS
Continente is the only national brand among the finalists of the 2022 edition of ‘Bea World’, the main international events’ festival in which the best of creativity and innovation in the industry worldwide is distinguished. The national retailer’s nomination is for its ‘Continente Food Festival’ (in the ‘Festival and Own Events’ and ‘Proprietary Format’ categories) and ‘Rock Kitchen’ (in the ‘Brand Activation’ category).
‘Expanding World’ (Continente Food Festival) and ‘Big Fish’ (Rock Kitchen) are Continente’s partner agencies, responsible for the brand activations that took place this summer. The awards for the 2022 edition of ‘BEA World’ will be handed out in Rome on November 26th.
For Nádia Reis, Communication and Brand Activation Director at Continente “being among the Bea World Festival’s finalists is already a cause for celebration for we are competing with the best international events around the world. We have complete confidence in our partners – ‘Expanding World’ and ‘Big Fish’ – and recognition for the teams’ work at the Continente Food Festival and at Rock Kitchen. These events marked Continente’s return to face-to-face formats after the pandemic. We wanted to highlight this comeback in a big way to celebrate and surprise our customers and partners, so, it is very special for us being recognized in this international shortlist”.
Continente Food Festival’s 4th Edition took place in Porto’s City Park, on the 9th and 10th of July, and brought together more than 500 thousand people in two days of festivities. Through the Food Festival, Continente aims to democratize access to entertainment through music, gastronomy with prestigious Chefs, and provide family moments with the multiple free activities accessible to all.
With the motto “Cook. Rock. Help.”, Continente’s Rock Kitchen joined hundreds of festival-goers who participated in cooking workshops, making 8 different recipes throughout each day. Using molecular cooking techniques and some less common ingredients, they had the opportunity to learn how to cook recipes using liquid nitrogen and spherification techniques, discover vegan alternatives and have access to other unique gastronomic experiences. For each challenge overcome by visitors, the brand donated a meal to ‘Refood’. In total, around 800 meals were donated. Rock in Rio Lisboa’s 9th edition took place on the 18th, 19th, 25th and 26th of June 2022, at ‘Parque da Bela Vista’, in Lisbon.
