NEW CONTINENTE STORE IN LEÇA DA PALMEIRA BRINGS VARIETY TO THE REGION
As of today, Leça da Palmeira welcomes a new Continente Bom Dia store featuring 1723 m2 of sales area and 91 parking spaces, with 4 charging stations for electric vehicles. Located on Rua Manuel da Silva Araújo, Continente Bom Dia Leça de Palmeira has around 47 employees and operates daily from 8:00 am to 9:30 pm, following MC’s proximity stores’ expansion policies in urban locations and neighbourhoods. In this space, customers will also be able to count on a Wells store. This opening reinforces the brand’s commitment to the Porto district, which now has 72 stores.

The opening of the space is marked with a 10% discount on Continente Card campaign, throughout the store, between the 8th and 11th of February, which accumulates with current promotions.
“This opening in the municipality of Matosinhos, the place where Continente was born, represents the commitment that we have kept with our customers for over 38 years and that we want to reinforce every day, in order to be closer to families, by offering a close and quality service and a range featuring thousands of products, which include our own private label and also the brands that usually make up the basket of choices of those who visit us.” explains Store Director, Elvira Santos, who has been with MC for 14 years.
On the environmental front, the photovoltaic solar panels on the roof and in the car park stand out, which represent around 45% of the store’s total consumption, guaranteeing its self-sufficiency for a period of more than 8 hours on a day with good solar radiation. The store also features 100% LED low consumption light bulbs for lighting, and equipment to control and reduce excessive water consumption.
To highlight its arrival in the region, Missão Continente gifted shopping carts filled with essential goods to the institutions sponsored by the new store: ‘Refood’ Leça da Palmeira and ‘Associação MIACIS’ (Animal Institution). Missão Continente will permanently support these institutions, through daily food surpluses from the new Continente Bom Dia Leça de Palmeira store.
At Continente Bom Dia Leça de Palmeira, consumers can also use reusable bags when purchasing fruit, vegetables or bakery products, as well as reusable boxes for delicatessen and take-away products.
