Continente is the first food retailer to get the “COVID SAFE” seal
Continente is the first food distribution brand in Portugal to be distinguished with the "COVID SAFE" seal, after an audit carried out by APCER, which guarantees that the brand complies with the official measures to control the COVID-19 pandemic.
Developed by APCER, the "COVID SAFE" seal is attributed to the organizations that comply with the health and labour authorities’ - General Directorate of Health (DGS), Authority for Working Conditions (ACT) and International Labour Organization (ILO) - guidelines on health and safety in the COVID-19 pandemic’s context.
The independent audit process on Continente stores evaluated the implementation of the brand's procedures and practices, based on the official guidelines, considering more than 300 evaluation parameters.
Continente has been carefully following the recommendations of national and international authorities, namely the General Directorate of Health, having the necessary policies and mechanisms to face the presence of COVID-19 in Portugal. It has outlined a contingency plan, with several possible scenarios, which is being put into practice according to the evolution of the situation in Portugal, for the safety of all.
Food Distribution has been identified as a critical service by the Government and Continente is aware of its responsibility towards the country. Our priority is always the safety of both employees and customers in order to continue to #AlimentarPortugal (Feed Portugal).
