Be@t
Supported by the Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência (PRR), the national textile industry is investing 138 million euros in sustainable bioeconomy for a paradigm shift in the sector and the creation of quality products from biological resources as an alternative to fossil-based materials. Led by CITEVE (Centro Tecnológico das Indústrias Têxtil e do Vestuário de Portugal), the be@t project involves a consortium of 54 entities, including companies, universities, technological centers, and others, who will develop new raw materials, manufacturing and processing technologies and equipment. Additionally, it aims to empower and engage society and all relevant stakeholders in this paradigm shift. The project will last for three years, with its conclusion is expected in December 2025.
