The cod picking operation is a high ergonomic risk operation due to the weight and dimensions of the article packaging.

Overexertion in the spine and upper limbs makes this activity have a REBA index. The project team considered supporting vacuum equipment on the rack’s own structure, and together with the two suppliers involved, they were able to provide a solution to the initial idea of using vacuum equipment.

In this way, an innovative solution was created by installing only 7 pieces of equipment in the locations with the highest stock turnover, making the picking of 86% of the shipped boxes significantly more ergonomic.
