MISSÃO CONTINENTE SCHOOL: THE 2nd CHALLENGE’S WINNING SCHOOLS ARE ALREADY KNOWN
Orlando Gonçalves Primary School, in Alfornelos, and Cabanas’ Primary School, in Palmela, won 1st place in the primary school activity, of Missão Continente School’s 7th edition, with the challenge of creating a comic strip about Fish and Legumes, and won a 500 euros prize to be used in recreational-pedagogical material.
Also awarded were the Assomada Primary School, in Caniço, and the Ponta do Sol Primary School, both in Madeira, which placed 2nd and 3rd in the primary school activity, with the same challenge. They will be awarded, respectively, a prize of 350 and 250 euros, to be used in recreational-pedagogical material.
In Aveiro, the António Graça Primary School also won a place on the podium, taking 2nd place, with the same challenge of creating a comic strip about Fish and Legumes, and was awarded a prize of 350 euros to be used in recreational-pedagogical material. Also in Ponte de Sor, the João de Deus kindergarten, won 3rd place in the activity, having received a prize of 250 euros to be used in recreational-pedagogical material.
The challenge consisted of creating a comic strip focusing on fish and legumes, with the possibility of using a pre-defined base and creating the narrative, or even create a narrative from scratch, using, or not, pre-defined vignettes.
Missão Continente School, created in 2016, sensitizes pre-school, primary and elementary school students to healthy eating, conscious consumption and an active lifestyle. This school year, the programme is present in more than 800 schools across the country. In each edition, participants have access to content, educational activities, challenges (with associated prizes), recreational and educational materials, receive visits from Missão Continente School’s Ambassadors in their schools and have the possibility to visit Continente stores, where they take a guided tour exploring Missão Continente School’s themes.
Aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations, Missão Continente School is one of Continente’s several social responsibility initiatives, as part of its commitment to building a more sustainable future.
