In total, more than 700 items were delivered. The request for aid reached Miss\u00e3o Continente via the ‘Rotary Club Braga-Norte’, which picked up the food last week at the Continente Modelo store in Braga, and delivered it to the solidarity movement’s facilities.<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\nThe ‘Turn the Page’ project was born in March 2020, during the first confinement period, to support families affected by the Covid-19 pandemic in Braga. It arose with a group of volunteers linked to ‘Col\u00e9gio Luso Internacional de Braga’, who got together, in the institution’s cafeteria, to prepare meals to help needy families. From the 58 initial daily meals, it currently cooks around 350 meals, between lunch and dinner, from the premises of the Gualtar Parish Hall, which has since joined the movement. Miss\u00e3o Continente has supported this cause since its inception.\r\n\r\nThe movement created a food emergency response, which delivers meals to those most in need, always on a temporary basis, until the person is able to \u201cturn the page\u201d, no longer needing food support.\r\n\r\nSince the arrival of the new coronavirus in Portugal, Miss\u00e3o Continente has responded to numerous requests for support, distributing thousands of food and hygiene products, among others, to hundreds of entities including hospitals, municipalities and solidarity institutions, with the aim of helping not only the most vulnerable and in a situation of illness, but also health professionals and civil protection agents who remain at the forefront in the fight against
