{"id":15343,"date":"2023-07-25T11:33:58","date_gmt":"2023-07-25T11:33:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/?p=15343"},"modified":"2023-10-16T11:37:26","modified_gmt":"2023-10-16T11:37:26","slug":"innovation-and-technology-1st-missao-continente-hackathon-winners","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/en\/mc-sonae\/innovation-and-technology-1st-missao-continente-hackathon-winners\/","title":{"rendered":"INNOVATION AND TECHNOLOGY: 1ST MISS\u00c3O CONTINENTE HACKATHON WINNERS"},"content":{"rendered":"<strong>\u2018My Conti\u2019, \u2018Kiosk Solid\u00e1rio\u2019 and \u2018ContinenteGive\u2019 were the winning projects of the 1<sup>st<\/sup> edition of the Miss\u00e3o Continente Hackathon, which took place in Aldeia da Luz, in Alentejo, and which challenged entrepreneurs and investors to think of disruptive technological solutions to impact the development of solidarity campaigns and bring the Miss\u00e3o Continente School to all children in the national territory.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe \u2018<strong>My Conti<\/strong>\u2019 gaming APP, created by Catarina Lima and Raquel Costa, Biomedical and Biophysical Engineering university students, won first place and the prize of 1,500\u20ac with the innovative idea of promoting and teaching how to improve quality of life, healthy eating and the best ways to recycle through an interactive game. Aimed at children ranging from preschool up to the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> stage of basic education, players complete the proposed interactive challenges\/tasks (using the cell phone camera), accumulate points and receive rewards such as stuffed animals or sticker books, for example.\r\n\r\nThe 2<sup>nd<\/sup> place, worth 1,000\u20ac, was awarded to Jo\u00e3o Cola\u00e7o for his \u2018<strong>Kiosk Solid\u00e1rio<\/strong>\u2019 project, which promotes donations of goods and money in real time through a web app. This platform, created by this IT engineer from Lisbon, allows people to follow solidarity campaigns and actions, to see the amounts raised so far and to obtain information on how to help directly.\r\n\r\nPedro Esteves was the third place finisher in this hackathon, with a prize of 500\u20ac. The IT engineer from IST created a low-code app that gamifies Miss\u00e3o Continente within school communities.\r\n\r\n\u2018<strong>ContinenteGive<\/strong>\u2019 promotes conscious consumption and healthy eating, helping those who need it the most. At the same time, with the help of this digital tool, schools are able to carry out practical activities about the food circle and sensitize young people to the need to collect food that can help others.\r\n\r\nThis Hackathon, which was born from the challenge launched by the \u2019Portugal Inova\u00e7\u00e3o Social (PIS)\u2019 initiative, for Miss\u00e3o Continente to join the \u2018Aldeia da Inova\u00e7\u00e3o Social\u2019, was designed to promote reflection on social innovation and new ways of acting by Miss\u00e3o Continente, encouraging the creation of disruptive technological solutions, to impact the development of solidarity campaigns and ways of getting the Miss\u00e3o Continente School to reach all children in the national territory.\r\n\r\nMiss\u00e3o Continente is Continente\u2019s brand of social responsibility, which is anchored in the values of community, mutual help, and care for others, in the search for a sustainable future. It is committed to Sustainability, contributing positively to the communities in which it operates and acting on three axes: Food, People and Planet.
