{"id":15329,"date":"2023-07-03T15:18:51","date_gmt":"2023-07-03T15:18:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/?p=15329"},"modified":"2023-10-13T15:48:44","modified_gmt":"2023-10-13T15:48:44","slug":"missao-continente-presents-the-first-social-impact-report-from-a-national-food-retailer","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/en\/mc-sonae\/missao-continente-presents-the-first-social-impact-report-from-a-national-food-retailer\/","title":{"rendered":"MISS\u00c3O CONTINENTE PRESENTS THE FIRST SOCIAL IMPACT REPORT FROM A NATIONAL FOOD RETAILER"},"content":{"rendered":"<strong>MC is the first national food retail company to launch a social impact report through a detailed analysis of the work carried out by Miss\u00e3o Continente on behalf of communities throughout 2022.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe first edition of the Impact Report launches in the year in which Miss\u00e3o Continente celebrates two decades as an aggregating platform for all of the brand\u2019s social responsibility initiatives, detailing its involvement with the community in different aspects, from classic philanthropy to social investment.\r\n\r\nThis Impact Report gathers information on the projects supported and promoted by Miss\u00e3o Continente, with a focus on what is common between them &#8211; changes and impact -, facilitating communication about the projects and the global investment strategy. In addition, it guarantees the transparency of the support and monitoring processes, contributing to Miss\u00e3o Continente\u2019s credibility.\r\n\r\nThe report identifies the resources invested, the activities carried out, the results achieved and, finally, the changes achieved. These four phases make up the Theory of Change, a methodology used to establish the basis for impact management and monitoring. In addition to using this methodology, another tool for measuring social impact was used: the Impact Management Project, which made it possible to respond to five information dimensions: \u201cWhat\u201d, \u201cWho\u201d, \u201cHow Much\u201d, \u201cContribution\u201d and \u201cRisk\u201d.\r\n\r\n\u201c<em>This impact report allows us to detail the contribution that Miss\u00e3o Continente made throughout 2022 to the resolution of problems that it considers to be priorities within the scope of its action strategy, ensuring the path of commitment that we have been taking, of creating social value and positive impact in the communities where we operate.<\/em>\u201d explains N\u00e1dia Reis, Director of Communication and Social Responsibility at Continente.\r\n\r\nThe document also presents an overview of Miss\u00e3o Continente\u2019s role, from North to South of Mainland Portugal and Islands, highlighting the role of Miss\u00e3o Continente\u2019s Strategic Council, composed of experts on today\u2019s most pressing issues as well as the membership in the European Venture Philanthropy Association (EVPA), the most relevant European network of impact investors.\r\n\r\n\u201c<em>Miss\u00e3o Continente has been strengthening its involvement with the institutions it supports, implementing in-depth and regular follow-ups, in order to monitor the results and train the beneficiary projects<\/em>\u201d explains N\u00e1dia Reis.\r\n\r\nFor Continente\u2019s Director of Communication and Social Responsibility, \u201c<em>the preparation of a Social Impact Report, focusing on the activity carried out by Miss\u00e3o Continente, allows us to improve the way we structure and maximize our projects\u2019 social impact through its measurement and monitoring.
