This novelty is available exclusively at Continente stores, which feature a Food Lab corner, in five different flavours, for 1.35 euros.<\/strong>\r\n\r\n\"\"\r\n\r\n \r\n\r\nCaramel, Coconut and Vanilla, Himalayan Pink Salt, Wasabi and Peri-peri are the \u2018Karma Bites\u2019 available flavours, which can be consumed in different ways, as an alternative to traditional popcorn, as a snack to carry along, or even incorporated into recipes, as a crunchy topping.\r\n\r\nThe Lotus is an aquatic plant, where almost all of its constituents, including the seeds, have been used for many years as food with functional properties, especially in Chinese medicine and Ayurveda. The \u2018Karma Bites\u2019 are thus born from the extraction of the lotus seed, which is slowly dried in the sun and then roasted and seasoned. These provide protein and have an appealing energy value, with nutritious properties and a crunchy texture. In addition, there is no palm oil nor refined sugars in their composition.\r\n\r\nThe \u2018Karma Bites\u2019 are Continente\u2019s\u00a0 Food Lab space\u2019s\u00a0 most recent novelty, with a sales forecast of more than 7 thousand units during the first 6 months of the year.\r\n\r\nContinente\u2019s Food Lab products are characterized as innovative and disruptive and embody at least one of the most relevant emerging trends in terms of food, with particular emphasis on health and well-being, sustainability and new ingredients, flavours and textures.\r\n\r\nContinente Food Lab is present in 10 hypermarkets: Continente Matosinhos, Continente Colombo, Continente Gaia Shopping, Continente Gaia Jardim, Continente Telheiras, Continente Oeiras, Continente Vasco da Gama, Continente Cascais, Continente Antas and Continente CoimbraShopping.
