{"id":13407,"date":"2022-11-10T16:34:56","date_gmt":"2022-11-10T16:34:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/?p=13407"},"modified":"2022-11-11T16:39:36","modified_gmt":"2022-11-11T16:39:36","slug":"world-competition-distinguishes-5-portuguese-private-label-cheeses","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/en\/news\/world-competition-distinguishes-5-portuguese-private-label-cheeses\/","title":{"rendered":"WORLD COMPETITION DISTINGUISHES 5 PORTUGUESE PRIVATE LABEL CHEESES"},"content":{"rendered":"<strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/gff.co.uk\/awards\/world-cheese-awards\/\">World Cheese Awards<\/a>, one of the main and most prestigious global cheese competitions, distinguished five of Continente\u2019s cheeses, namely the \u2018Continente Sele\u00e7\u00e3o S\u00e3o Jorge PDO 7 Months cheese\u2019, which was awarded the Super Gold medal, awarded only to 98 participants, two of which from Portugal.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThe \u2018Continente Sele\u00e7\u00e3o Azeit\u00e3o PDO cheese\u2019 and the \u2018Continente Sele\u00e7\u00e3o buffalo camembert (250g)\u2019 were evaluated with a Silver grade and the \u2018Continente Seia buttered sheep cheese\u2019 and the \u2018Continente Manchego PDO 6 months (250g)\u2019 were distinguished with a bronze medal.\r\n\r\nThe competition awarded a total of 13 Portuguese cheeses, with medals ranging from bronze to super gold.\r\n\r\nThe World Cheese Awards\u2019 34<sup>th<\/sup> edition took place in Wales, in early November, and evaluated more than 4,000 cheeses from over 40 countries.
