{"id":13242,"date":"2022-10-12T14:18:43","date_gmt":"2022-10-12T14:18:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/?p=13242"},"modified":"2022-10-13T14:25:02","modified_gmt":"2022-10-13T14:25:02","slug":"the-biggest-pet-store-in-the-country-is-on-continente","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/en\/news\/the-biggest-pet-store-in-the-country-is-on-continente\/","title":{"rendered":"THE BIGGEST PET STORE IN THE COUNTRY IS ON CONTINENTE"},"content":{"rendered":"Until October 23<sup>rd<\/sup>, the <strong>largest Animal Fair in the country<\/strong> will take place, in all Continente stores as well as online, with direct discounts of up to 50% on the best-selling brands for pets, in a diversity of more than 600 products.\r\n\r\nThe food segment for small breed dogs is one of this year\u2019s novelties, concentrating the entire offer of differentiated food for these sizes, which generally need more energetic foods and with a higher level of protein to face their fast metabolism and adjusted to their jaw size.\r\n\r\nAdditionally, Continente continues to reinforce its commitment to the high nutrition segment, particularly with the exclusive and specialist brand \u2018Uppy\u2019, developed by specialists and recommended by veterinarians. All \u2018Uppy\u2019 food is hypoallergenic, reducing the possibility of animals developing food allergies or intolerances. It is for sale exclusively in all Continente stores and Continente Online, with discounts of up to 35% during the fair.\r\n\r\nStill in this trend segment, focused on health, the Continente Animal Fair presents more novelties with the \u2018Boxby\u2019 brand, in particular a line of functional dog biscuits with scientifically proven quality ingredients and recipes. Also noteworthy are a variety of accessories and products for outings, comfort and hygiene, with discounts of up to 50% during the fair.\r\n\r\nIn addition to the promotional offers carried out throughout the year to help families provide the best care for their four-legged best friends, MC has contributed to the animal cause through several partners and initiatives. \u201c<em>In addition to daily donations \u2013 in 2021, Miss\u00e3o Continente donated 1.7 million euros in food surpluses to around 370 animal shelter and welfare associations \u2013 Continente promotes several solidarity vouchers campaigns throughout the year,<\/em>\u201d says Ros\u00e1rio Almeida, PetFood &amp; Care Commercial Direction\u2019s Category Leader at MC. \u201c<em>Last year, through our customers\u2019 solidarity, we gathered 157 tonnes of food for Animalife, a national non-profit association that fights the abandonment of pets and that forwards donations to associations, families in need and homeless people. A further 209 tonnes were also raised during the collections carried out at Continente stores by the various local associations, with the help of their volunteers<\/em>\u201d, continues the official.\r\n\r\nThe next fundraising campaign to support Animalife\u2019s Animal Solidarity Bank will take place at Continente, Continente Modelo, Continente Bom Dia, Continente Online and ZU stores from the 6<sup>th<\/sup> to the 16<sup>th<\/sup> of October, through the sale of vouchers.
