This is a fair where support for national production is celebrated, with over 4 million bottles having been sold in the 2021 edition.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThis year, we highlight the wines awarded in the \u2018Uva de Ouro\u2019 Awards\u2019 9<sup>th<\/sup> edition, a competition recognized by the Vine and Wine Institute which, after blind tastings, awarded 177 wines. Among the 94 Gold medallists are exclusive wines from Continente\u2019s cellar, such as the \u2018Paulo Laureano Signature\u2019 red from Alentejo with an RRP of \u20ac6.99 (60% share on a recommended RRP of \u20ac17.89), the \u2018Contemporal\u2019 Douro white with an RRP of \u20ac2.29, the \u2018S\u00e3o Domingos Mill\u00e9sime\u2019 Sparkling Wine with an RRP of \u20ac5.99 (50% share on the recommended RRP of \u20ac11.99) or the \u2018Jos\u00e9 Maria da Fonseca 10 years Superior\u2019 Muscat with an RRP of \u20ac10.99 (50% share on the recommended RRP of \u20ac21.99).\r\n\r\nAmong the more than 30 new wines at the fair, there are the two new limited author editions by the \u2018Contemporal\u2019 range: From Douro with an RRP of \u20ac6.99, with the contribution of winemaker Dirk Niepoort, and from Lisbon with an RRP of \u20ac6.99, from winemaker Diogo Lopes.\r\n\r\nIn terms of innovations, we highlight the launch of two low-alcohol red wines \u2013 \u2018Sobreiro de Peg\u00f5es\u2019 with 10% alcohol with an RRP of \u20ac2.99 (50% share on a recommended RRP of \u20ac5.99) and \u2018Valmaduro Lisboa\u2019 with 10.5% with an RRP of \u20ac3.99 (60% share on the recommended RRP of \u20ac9.99) -, and the first Dry Muscat from Set\u00fabal, the \u2018Vinha da Valentina Seco\u2019 with an RRP of \u20ac8.99 (30% share on the recommended RRP of \u20ac12.99), which presents a 60% reduction in the usual sugar content in this type of beverage.\r\n\r\nIn terms of single-variety wines, some of the exclusive novelties in Continente\u2019s cellar are the \u2018Tapada das Lebres Syrah Premium\u2019 red from Alentejo with an RRP of \u20ac4.89 (65% share on the recommended RRP of \u20ac13.99), the \u2018Adega de Mangualde Cole\u00e7\u00e3o do Mocho Touriga Nacional\u2019 red from D\u00e3o with an RRP of \u20ac3.99 (a share of more than 50% on the recommended RRP of \u20ac6.99) and the \u2018Vale do Rocim\u2019 Organic from Alentejo with an RRP of \u20ac7.99 (a share of \u20ac20 % on the recommended RRP of \u20ac9.99). Also from Alentejo, the \u2018Mestre Xico\u2019 red with an RRP of \u20ac5.49 (45% share on the recommended RRP of \u20ac9.99), from Casa Francisco Nunes Garcia, and the \u2018Lagar dos Perdig\u00f5es Reserva\u2019 red (\u20ac4.99), from Monte dos Perdig\u00f5es, are the new references for sale exclusively on Continente.\r\n\r\nFrom Douro, the \u2018Castelinho\u2019 Reserve stands out with an RRP of \u20ac3.59 (60% share on the recommended RRP of \u20ac8.99) and the Grand Reserve red with an RRP of \u20ac7.99 (50% share on the recommended RRP of \u20ac15.99), both with prolonged aging in oak barrels. From other regions, customers can opt for the \u2018Flor de Lagoalva\u2019 red from the Tejo region with an RRP of \u20ac3.59 (60% share on the recommended RRP of \u20ac8.99) \u2013 from the producer Quinta da Lagoalva -, for the \u2018Pancas\u2019 Reserve red from Lisboa, with an RRP of \u20ac3.99 (55% share on the recommended RRP of \u20ac8.99) \u2013 from Quinta de Pancas -, or for the \u2018Conde de Calhariz\u2019 red from Set\u00fabal\u2019s Peninsula, with an RRP of \u20ac2.99 (\u20ac70 % share on the recommended RRP of \u20ac9.99) &#8211; from the producer Jos\u00e9 Maria da Fonseca.\r\n\r\nFor charcuterie lovers, the fair marks the relaunch of Continente Sele\u00e7\u00e3o\u2019s ham range, which is based on attributes such as the breed, the sliver-like cut (as cut by hand) and a curing time of 24 months (from 5, 99\u20ac). The Duroc Sirloin 100g (\u20ac3.19), from Sanchez Alcaraz, and the \u2018Casa do Monte\u2019 Duroc Grand Reserve Ham (\u20ac2.69), aged for 15 months, are distinguished by their succulence and a more refined flavour, characteristic of the breed. For festive occasions, the range of festive Italian charcuterie boards, with their thin cuts and ready to eat are the right choice (from \u20ac5.99). Regarding \u2018alheiras\u2019 (Portuguese sausage), we suggest the \u2018A. Montesinho\u2019 game sausage balls (\u20ac2.69), ready to go in the oven, and the \u2018Prisca\u2019 alheira sausage trilogy (\u20ac5.99), made up of 3 smaller alheira sausages, ideal for a snack or a starter.\r\n\r\nRegarding cheeses, the focus is on smaller formats, namely the sheep\u2019s cheese and the goat\u2019s cheese from \u2018Herdade da Maia\u2019 for \u20ac5.19, with a special 4 month maturation period, which refer to the flavour of the traditional Alentejo cheese, and also the \u2018Mist\u00e9rio do Pico\u2019 cow cheese (\u20ac2.49), produced in the Azores.\r\n\r\nThe \u2018Santiago\u2019 brand also presents two cheese boards, produced with 100% Portuguese milk and ready to go on the table (from \u20ac4.49) and there are also two sets of 3 cheeses from the \u2018Serras de Penela\u2019 brand (\u20ac3.79) and from the \u2018Monte da Soalheira\u2019 brand (\u20ac5.19), with different flavours.\r\n\r\nContinente\u2019s Wine, Sausage and Cheese Fair is a way to support and pay tribute to national production, showcasing the quality and diversity of Portuguese products, from different regions and different producers.
