By the campaign\u2019s end, for each tonne collected in the \u2018Cadern\u00e3o\u2019 deposits at the stores\u2019 entrance, the brand will plant 20 trees, in \u2018Floresta Sonae\u2019 (Sonae Forest) – a 1,100 acre area in Mangualde, planted according to diversity and fire-fighting criteria, with the goal of offsetting the group\u2019s emissions.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nIn addition to planting trees, the \u2018Cadern\u00e3o\u2019 initiative\u2019s goals are to raise awareness and encourage customers to recycle, and save other trees, as recycled paper will gain new life in other materials, thus avoiding the use of new raw materials.\r\n\r\n\u2018Cadern\u00e3o\u2019 deposits are available in all the country\u2019s Continente hypermarkets, as well as in the Elvas, Portalegre and Bragan\u00e7a\u2019s Continente Modelo stores, next to the recycling area (at the entrance of each store).\r\n\r\nThis project is supported by Miss\u00e3o Continente, whose axes of action include encouraging a healthy diet and lifestyle, investing in social impact projects that transform and improve the lives of the most vulnerable people, and acting together with communities, helping them grow, be more sustainable and respond to social and environmental challenges.\r\n\r\n\u2018Sustainable Production and Consumption\u2019, \u2018Climate Action\u2019 and \u2018Protecting Earthly Life\u2019 are some of the sustainable development goals proposed by the United Nations (UN), to which Miss\u00e3o Continente intends to contribute with this initiative.\r\n\r\n\"\"","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"Until September 18th, all the country\u2019s Continente stores are accepting used notebooks and used paper, of any brand, that customers […]","protected":false},"author":19,"featured_media":12783,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[182,175,165,166,156],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-12791","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-missao-continente-news","category-news","category-recycling","category-social-responsability","category-sustainability"],"yoast_head":"\nContinente stores collect used school notebooks for recycling -
