{"id":12248,"date":"2022-04-11T16:18:27","date_gmt":"2022-04-11T16:18:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/?p=12248"},"modified":"2022-04-11T16:18:27","modified_gmt":"2022-04-11T16:18:27","slug":"meu-super-supports-leirias-food-bank-against-hunger","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/en\/news\/meu-super-supports-leirias-food-bank-against-hunger\/","title":{"rendered":"MEU SUPER SUPPORTS LEIRIA\u2019S FOOD BANK AGAINST HUNGER"},"content":{"rendered":"<b>Meu Super, one of the Allianz CUP\u2019s partners and sponsor of the Final Four\u2019s activities, together with the event\u2019s organizer, donated 16 tonnes of food to the Food Bank Against Hunger in Leiria, the event\u2019s host city.<\/b>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">For each goal scored during the Final Four\u2019s three games, which took place in January, the sponsors donated 1 tonne of food, which now allows to support the more than 15 thousand people who are under the support of the Food Bank\u2019s Emergency Network in Leiria\/F\u00e1tima, Abrantes and the West.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Jo\u00e3o Melo, General Director at Meu Super, says that \u201c<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">we got a brand with national coverage like Meu Super together with an activity that involves many people and a lot of passion, as is football, with an ability to communicate representatively with the Portuguese<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Partnering for the first time in this initiative by Allianz and the Football Foundation, Jo\u00e3o Melo reveals that this is a partnership to keep: &#8220;<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Whenever actions of this importance arise, and fall within our solidarity policy, Meu Super will evaluate the possibilities and will, certainly, be a continuity partner<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u201d, he concluded.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 2022, Meu Super was the winner, for the 7<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">th<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> consecutive year, of the Consumer Choice award, which demonstrates notoriety and recognition from consumers. Meu Super stores were also awarded, for the fifth consecutive year, with the \u2018Excellentia\u2019 and the \u2018Cinco Estrelas\u2019 Awards.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The \u2018Meu Super\u2019 brand opened 37 new stores in 2021, including Madeira, Azores and Cape Verde, which stand out for their quality fresh products, the presence of Continente\u2019s private label products and other leading brands in the market, competitive prices and an attractive promotional plan reinforced by the ability to use Continente\u2019s Fidelity card, through in-store discounts and benefits from a wide network of partners.<\/span>\r\n\r\n<span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Over 10 years, Meu Super opened around 300 stores across the country, with a total sales area of \u200b\u200b50 thousand m<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">2<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> and created 1500 jobs.
