{"id":11355,"date":"2022-02-02T16:03:15","date_gmt":"2022-02-02T16:03:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/?p=11355"},"modified":"2022-02-02T16:03:15","modified_gmt":"2022-02-02T16:03:15","slug":"missao-continentes-bag-collection-supports-5-great-causes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/en\/news\/missao-continentes-bag-collection-supports-5-great-causes\/","title":{"rendered":"MISS\u00c3O CONTINENTE\u2019S BAG COLLECTION SUPPORTS 5 GREAT CAUSES"},"content":{"rendered":"<strong>Portuguese League Against Cancer, \u2018Ajudar Mo\u00e7ambique\u2019 Association, Gil Foundation, Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV) and \u2018CASA\u2019 &#8211; Support Centre for the Homeless &#8211; are the five institutions that Miss\u00e3o Continente will support, throughout this year, through the sale of <a href=\"https:\/\/missao.continente.pt\/iniciativas\/sacos-solidarios\/\">Collectible Solidarity Bags<\/a>.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nThese bags will be for sale in all Continente, Continente Modelo and Continente Bom Dia stores in the country, in stages, throughout the year, for \u20ac1.05, of which \u20ac0.50 will revert to the supported institutions. The amount raised on each Solidarity Bag will vary depending on the quantity sold. With the donation, the institutions will implement a project in the medium term (1 to 3 years). Miss\u00e3o Continente will monitor these projects\u2019 implementation and measure their impact on the community in question.\r\n\r\nThis is a collection of <strong>5 different bags<\/strong>, with a modern design, reflecting a more optimistic, vibrant and energetic trend, with every detail thought for each cause. The themes of each bag in this collection reflect just that: <strong>Hope<\/strong>, <strong>Peace<\/strong>, <strong>Smile<\/strong>, <strong>Love<\/strong> and <strong>Dream<\/strong>. These are reusable, washable, 100% recyclable bags made with 100% recycled materials.\r\n\r\n<img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-11334 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/saco_LPCC_lcd_800x600-01.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1667\" height=\"1250\" srcset=\"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/saco_LPCC_lcd_800x600-01.jpg 1667w, https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/saco_LPCC_lcd_800x600-01-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/saco_LPCC_lcd_800x600-01-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/saco_LPCC_lcd_800x600-01-150x112.jpg 150w, https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/saco_LPCC_lcd_800x600-01-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/saco_LPCC_lcd_800x600-01-1536x1152.jpg 1536w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1667px) 100vw, 1667px\" \/>\r\nAt the moment, the first 2022 Collection\u2019s solidarity bag is for sale &#8211; the \u2018<strong>Hope<\/strong>\u2019 bag (I Bring Hope), that reverts to the Portuguese League Against Cancer, to acquire support accessories for people with cancer, namely hair prostheses, turbans, scarves and hats. Hair is an important element in the individuals\u2019 image and self-esteem, namely in women, and these accessories, as well as facial aesthetic treatments, such as eyebrow tattooing or eyelash application, can make a difference in cancer patients.\r\n\r\nThe second solidarity bag, in the 2022 collection, is the \u2018<strong>Peace<\/strong>\u2019 bag (I Sow Peace), which will revert to the \u2018Ajudar Mo\u00e7ambique\u2019 Association, which supports the \u201cSchool for Girls\u201d education project. This project provides access to quality secondary education, housing and food for young girls living in the vicinity of Gorongosa\u2019s National Park. It is intended to contribute to the requalification of the infrastructure of the only boarding school in the district\u2019s high school, as well as the requalification of the vegetable gardens, and the creation of scholarships. The \u2018Ajudar Mo\u00e7ambique\u2019 Association supports the most disadvantaged rural communities living close to conservation areas in Mozambique.\r\n\r\nThe \u2018<strong>Smile<\/strong>\u2019 Bag (I Spread Smiles) will support the Gil Foundation to achieve the &#8220;Paediatric Home Care&#8221; project\u2019s goals. Continuing the provision of paediatric health care at home can avoid unnecessary hospitalizations and prevent the child and the family\u2019s psychosocial degradation. The Gil Foundation has been dedicated, since 1999, to activities and projects that promote the global well-being of children, through the development of paediatric health and social reintegration projects.\r\n\r\nThe amount raised from the sale of the \u2018<strong>Love<\/strong>\u2019 Bag (I Hold Love), will be used to improve the Portuguese Association for Victim Support (APAV) Shelters\u2019 living conditions. \u2018APAV\u2019 develops a daily prevention, support and protection work in order to aid victims of various crimes, namely domestic violence or sexual crimes.\r\n\r\nThe \u2018<strong>Dream<\/strong>\u2019 Bag (I Carry Dreams) will support \u2018CASA\u2019 &#8211; Support Centre for the Homeless &#8211; in the creation of occupational activities for Homeless People.
