In this edition, more than 70 thousand students from 655 schools, from all districts of mainland Portugal and the Islands, are enrolled.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nAs a prize, both classes will attend and participate in a Cooking Session, using food leftovers, with the TV cooking programs\u2019 presenter and the 1st<\/sup> Cycle of Basic Education (CBE) ambassador, Filipa Gomes, who congratulated the winning class through a special message<\/a>. The player J\u00e9ssica Silva, the program’s ambassador for the 2nd<\/sup> CBE, also left a special message<\/a>.\r\n\r\nThe challenge given to the students was to identify a food waste situation in their school, and to develop suggestions to alleviate the problem, through a playful-pedagogical activity. All works were evaluated by a team from Miss\u00e3o Continente School, together with its partners, the Directorate-General for Education and the Centre for Studies and Research in Social Dynamics and Health (CEIDSS).\r\n\r\nThe Mur\u00e7a\u2019s Elementary and Secondary School\u2019s 6B class created a game with multiple choice questions, encouraging everyone to change their behaviour and promoting awareness and civic participation in the fight against food waste.\r\n\r\nThe Lomar\u2019s Elementary School\u2019s 2B class found that there was fruit being wasted at school and developed a playful-pedagogical game based on the behaviour of their colleagues, with behaviours to follow\/encourage and behaviours to eliminate\/avoid. The game also compiles relevant facts about fruits and vegetables.\r\n\r\nMiss\u00e3o Continente School is evaluating, for the first time, the impact of this educational program for healthy eating, in 35 schools of the 1st<\/sup> CBE, for 4 consecutive years (2021-2025). It is the first scientific study in a nutrition and community health program, of this size, in Portugal.\r\n\r\nThe Directorate-General for Health, the Centre for Studies and Research in Social Dynamics and Health (CEIDSS), the S\u00e3o Jo\u00e3o University Hospital Centre (CHUSJ), the Abel Salazar Institute of Biomedical Sciences of the University of Porto and the Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) are Miss\u00e3o Continente School\u2019s institutional partners, which also has the support of the Directorate-General for Education.
