{"id":11235,"date":"2022-01-11T10:08:47","date_gmt":"2022-01-11T10:08:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/?p=11235"},"modified":"2022-01-13T10:16:45","modified_gmt":"2022-01-13T10:16:45","slug":"luzes-com-presenca-raises-1-2-million-euros","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/en\/news\/luzes-com-presenca-raises-1-2-million-euros\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018LUZES COM PRESEN\u00c7A\u2019 RAISES 1.2 MILLION EUROS"},"content":{"rendered":"The \u2018Luzes com Presen\u00e7a\u2019 (Lights with Presence) campaign by Miss\u00e3o Continente, which ran from November 20th<\/sup> to January 6th<\/sup>, raised a total of 1.2 million euros, which fully reverted to 11 national institutions dedicated to accompanying citizens in situations or risk of social isolation and loneliness, such as the Portuguese Red Cross and the \u2018SOS Voz Amiga\u2019 Association, among others.<\/strong>\r\n\r\nMiss\u00e3o Continente\u2019s \u2018Luzes com Presen\u00e7a<\/a>\u2019 campaign proved to be the biggest campaign ever on this social responsibility platform, and the 1.2 million euros raised during the campaign will finance projects to fight loneliness and isolation in Portugal, by institutions with national operations \u2013 \u2018SOS Voz Amiga\u2019, Portuguese Red Cross – and local and regional action \u2013 \u2018N.\u00aa Sr.\u00aa do Extremo\u2019 Social Centre (Vila Pouca de Aguiar), \u2018Espa\u00e7o T\u2019 – Social and community integration support association (Porto), \u2018Aldeias Humanitar\u2019 – Social Solidarity Association (Sernancelhe), \u2018Mais Proximidade\u2019 Association (Lisbon), \u2018ACASO\u2019 \u2013 Olh\u00e3o\u2019s Cultural and Social Support Association, \u2018DTC Social\u2019 \u2013 Doing Things to Connect (Vila do Conde), \u2018Cora\u00e7\u00e3o Amarelo\u2019 Association (Porto de M\u00f3s), \u2018CRESA\u00c7OR\u2019 \u2013 Regional Cooperative of Solidarity Economy (S. Miguel) and \u2018Viver de Afetos\u2019 – C\u00e2mara de Lobos VIVA Community Development Association (Madeira).\r\n\r\nAdded to the \u20ac1,068,462 raised through the sale of solidarity vouchers acquired by the Portuguese, there also were \u20ac68,586 donated by Miss\u00e3o Continente, a \u20ac10,000 contribution from Santander and the Portuguese Football Federation and another \u20ac52,952 donated through value-added phone calls and bank transfers.\r\n\r\nN\u00e1dia Reis, Director of Communication and Social Responsibility at Continente, explains that \u201cwe knew it was an ambitious goal because it is a less visible topic and, for many, still unknown, but we challenged ourselves, always believing in the generosity of the Portuguese and in the trust they have in Miss\u00e3o Continente\u2019s ability to develop initiatives and to support projects that have a very relevant social and local impact. We thank all those who contributed to this solidarity campaign, which allowed us to support the projects, of fighting and preventing Loneliness and Social Isolation, by 11 national institutions, with 1.2 million euros<\/em>\u201d.\r\n\r\nThe beneficiary institutions were selected for their social impact projects, which develop and carry out concrete actions such as specialized emotional phone support, support for digital inclusion (basic communication tools), free complementary health care at home, plastic expression and musical sessions to stimulate cognitive and emotional skills, companion animals, home visits and support in carrying out daily tasks, among other activities and forms of specialized help for those who need it the most.\r\n\r\n\u201cThe distribution of the donation by the institutions will be proportional to their scope and effort of action, with the goal of guaranteeing these projects\u2019 sustainability and continuity, and even the expansion of some, allowing them to help even more people\u201d, says N\u00e1dia Reis. \u201cAfter the distribution of the raised amount, Miss\u00e3o Continente will continue to closely monitor the institutions, in order to ensure that the supported people\u2019s quality of life is effectively improved, and this post-campaign mission is a commitment that we face as seriously as the campaign itself<\/em>\u201d continues the official.\r\n\r\nThe \u2018Luzes com Presen\u00e7a\u2019 campaign was supported by the \u2018GNR\u2019 and \u2018PSP\u2019, the National School of Public Health and also by the following partners: \u2018TVI\u2019, the Portuguese Football Federation, \u2018Entrajuda\u2019 and \u2018Santander\u2019 bank.","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The \u2018Luzes com Presen\u00e7a\u2019 (Lights with Presence) campaign by Miss\u00e3o Continente, which ran from November 20th to January 6th, raised […]","protected":false},"author":19,"featured_media":11223,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[179,163,182,175,166],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-11235","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-comnunity","category-highlights-en","category-missao-continente-news","category-news","category-social-responsability"],"yoast_head":"\n\u2018LUZES COM PRESEN\u00c7A\u2019 RAISES 1.2 MILLION EUROS -
