{"id":10413,"date":"2021-10-21T10:21:25","date_gmt":"2021-10-21T10:21:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/?p=10413"},"modified":"2021-10-22T10:23:16","modified_gmt":"2021-10-22T10:23:16","slug":"missao-continente-creates-strategic-council","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mc.sonae.pt\/en\/news\/missao-continente-creates-strategic-council\/","title":{"rendered":"MISS\u00c3O CONTINENTE CREATES STRATEGIC COUNCIL"},"content":{"rendered":"\u201c<em>Priorities of social intervention in Portugal: How to build the future?<\/em>\u201d was the motto of the Plenary Session of the new &#8216;Miss\u00e3o Continente Strategic Council&#8217;, which met in Lisbon with representatives from key areas of Portuguese society to debate proposals for social intervention.\r\n\r\nThe following representatives attended in order to form the new &#8216;Miss\u00e3o Continente\u2019s Strategic Council: Alexandra Azevedo, President of Quercus; Ant\u00f3nio Guerreiro de Brito, President of the Higher Institute of Agronomy; Carla Nunes, Director of the National School of Public Health; Helena Real, General Secretary of the Portuguese Nutrition Association, representing C\u00e9lia Craveiro, President of the PNA; Fernando Gomes, President of the Portuguese Football Federation; Alexandra Figueiredo, Member of the Board of Directors of the National Agency for Qualification and Professional Education, representing Filipa Henriques de Jesus, President of ANQEP; Filipe Almeida, President of the \u2018Miss\u00e3o Portugal\u2019 Social Innovation Structure; Francisco George, President of the Portuguese Red Cross; Helena Duarte, Department Head of Special Projects and Institutional Relations at IAPMEI \u2013 Agency for Competitiveness and Innovation, representing Francisco S\u00e1, President of IAPMEI; Gon\u00e7alo Lobo Xavier, General Director of the Portuguese Association of Distribution Companies; Hunter Halder, President of Re-food and Ana Sofia Ferreira, member of the Board at Re-food; Isabel Jonet, President of the Portuguese Federation of Food Banks Against Hunger; Eul\u00e1lia Alexandre, Deputy General Director for Education, representing Jos\u00e9 V\u00edtor Pedroso, General Director for Education; Karin Wall, Director of the Institute of Social Sciences; Lu\u00eds Jacob, President of RUTIS \u2013 Senior Universities Network; Pedro Santa Clara, Director of \u201842 Lisboa\u2019; and Sandra Ribeiro, President of the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality. In\u00eas Azevedo, President of the Portuguese Society of Paediatrics, is also part of the group of invited Strategic Advisers.\r\n\r\n\u201c<em>Given the challenging social context we are going through, we rethought Miss\u00e3o Continente\u2019s strategic model, which now has the contribution of the highest representatives of entities with relevance in Portuguese society, with the goal of evaluating and devising strategies and developing initiatives that respond to the most pressing social challenges<\/em>\u201d, explains Jos\u00e9 Fortunato, Miss\u00e3o Continente\u2019s President.\r\n\r\nIn this first annual meeting, the new Miss\u00e3o Continente\u2019s Strategic Council identified the areas of society whose intervention needs are of the highest priority.\r\n\r\nFor Miss\u00e3o Continente\u2019s President, \u201c<em>the new Strategic model allows the involvement of all entities representing the community, understanding the major themes, challenges and problems of the current and future social context.
